I gave my mom a black diamond and white diamond heart pendant for her birthday and she loved it. It was more pricey, around 70 including a box of chocolates and shipping. It was worth it. I don't think that the more bling you give, the happier she is. Try something original and something she's not expecting.

personally, my mom would probably be upset if I spent a lot of money on jewelry for her, so I would probly get her something on the cheaper side. That doesn't have to mean in quality, though. You can snag some really great deals at yardsales/thriftstores/consignment shops. Just make sure you know what you're buying, and don't spend a lot on something too edgy she won't wear.
