My great grandmother always used to say, “Beauty hurts”. It was her funny way of saying that getting ready can often be long, tedious, and sometimes painful! It’s true to life, too. Have you ever watered your own eyes trying to pluck your eyebrows into a tolerable shape?
Have you ever tried brushing through a mangle of tangled hair without using a tangle free liquid solution, or accidentally stabbed your eye while using eyeliner? My great grandmother had a pretty good idea of the ways of the beauty world, that’s for sure. But I know one thing that’s even more painful than applying makeup, and that’s the price that racks up when I have to buy beauty products. I find myself saying, “Why is everything so expensive!?” Occasionally there’ll be a product you buy that lasts a long time without expiring. But for the most part, beauty products can get dangerously expensive, to the point where it can start “hurting” your bank account! When it comes to these troubled times, it’s time to start searching for discount beauty products.
This is more or less the same as being a smart grocery shopper. When you only buy what’s on sale, the net dollar amount of the money you save is usually pretty high. This doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of your favorite tried and true products, but just that you should re assess which ones mean the most to you.
As for the sales, look in your local Target for discount beauty products that you may be surprised to find. In or around the beauty section at most Targets are a few red baskets with marked down products in them. You can frequently find basics like light pink nail polish or simple black eyeliner for only a portion of the original price.
Also, if you’ve ever considered shopping at Sally’s Beauty Supply, there is a Beauty Club there that allows you to purchase discount beauty products for special member pricing. Membership costs 5 dollars a year, but if you buy a lot of beauty products, that’s something you could look into to save yourself some cash.
